    Child's Play Dinner Auction 2008

The 2008 Child’s Play dinner auction was once again a classy event that raised a ton of money for a great cause. The Pink Gorilla crew went and had a great time mingling with the gaming industries elite, occasionally bidding on a few items with no success. The real highlight of the evening is having participated in an event that raised over 200k for the children. After the success of Pinkapalooza 2 the day after the auction, the PG crew was happy with the amount raised for the kids in just a few short days.Notice the delicate touch Elder Matsu has as he displays this year’s auction catalog, taking such care as he handles the important document.

Hit the jump for some pics and video from the event including this years’ entry into the ‘random items signed by Peter Moore’ category. Last year Peter Moore signed a pair of boxer shorts, this year a black Sega Sports Dreamcast was the lucky item up for bid. Check out more of the exclusive gaming swag up for grabs at this years auction after the jump.

The Child's Play dinner auction is an event that each year manages to bring together gamers in the pursuit of a great cause, helping make the quality of living better for children stuck in hospitals. Besides getting to take part in a wonderful event for charity, attendees also get the chance to bid on some pretty rare items donated by companies from all over the gaming industry and beyond. Take a quick peak at just some of the items up for grabs at this years auction:

The crowd sits down for dinner in the fabulous Washington State Convention Center.

The Professor Layton Original Painting was one of the more artistic offerings at the auction this year.

The Gears of War 2 Lancer Replica was extremely intimidating.

Sex Panther Cologne, because romance is the only sport that requires two balls.

The chain maille Gabe and Tycho shirts would no doubt make you the coolest gamer at PAX.

The Peter Moore autographed black Sega Sports Dreamcast, simply the best.

The autographed Heroes script and comics were one of the more rare items up for bid.

The Bungie Collection to end all collections.

Ah, to have tea with the moon is such a delightful experience!

Harmonix saves the best for last:

Overall the Child's Play dinner auction was a fantastic event and the PG crew had a blast hanging out and contributing what they could to the cause.
