For those that are new to the Mario and Peach drama, here is a brief synopsis of events from the first two parts of the sordid tale.

In the first chapter of this grand tale of the real story behind gaming’s leading power couple, Mario and Peach, many unknown facts were brought to life. Many gamers forgot that Mario and his blundering brother Luigi were originally from the Little Italy neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York were they lived with Mario’s girlfriend Paulene. Life was good and after a hard day of working for the Metropolitan Sanitation Authority, the brothers would go home for a nice big pasta dinner prepared by Paulene. Then one day, after the giant monkey migration to the 5 boroughs had reached its peak, and Paulene was kidnapped by an especially egregious giant monkey named Donkey Kong, the trio was done with New York! Mario quickly went to save Paulene and after defeating Donkey Kong’s ingenious maze of ladders connected to platforms, and dodging the monkey’s projectiles of barrels and fireballs, he safely returned home with Paulene.

Deciding that the giant monkey migration was too much for the Brothers and Paulene, the trio headed for the nearest warp pipe and jumped to the Mushroom Kingdom. The story takes a turn for the worse and Mario is once again called upon to save a helpless woman in distress, the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach. This time his foe was non other than Bowser Koopa, King of the Koopa Tribe. Mario didn’t disappoint and after a long and arduous battle, he rescued Princess Peach and restored peace to the Mushroom Kingdom. Sensing that the only way to protect her kingdom from attack was to have Mario around, Princess Peach knew that she must find a way to get Mario by her side to protect the Mushroom Kingdom. For this she called Mario’s oldest enemy, Donkey Kong to get rid of Mario’s girlfriend, Paulene!

Moving on to chapter two, Mario is once again called to help the Mushroom Kingdom as Bowser threatens the nearby nation of Sarasaland! With the warp pipe to Brooklyn was destroyed by Princess Peach’s spies, Mario has no choice but to help save his new home. Bowser had regrouped his army and started to take over! Princess Peach summoned the Brothers to her castle and asked them help save the surrounding area so the Mushroom Kingdom would be safe. Mario left at once and rescued Princess Daisy of Sarasaland, whom Bowser had taken. After saving Princess Daisy, Mario returned to Princess Peach’s castle to find out devastating news, Paulene was missing! The Koopa’s were the chief suspects and after no trace of them was found for months, hope was lost of finding Paulene. In reality, Princess Peach had tricked Paulene into coming to stay at her castle and sent her chief of security, Toadsworth, to accompany her on her way to the castle. Instead of taking Paulene to the castle, Toadsworth did as he was instructed and took Paulene to Mario's oldest enemy, Donkey Kong! With Paulene gone, Princess Peach’s plan started to backfire as Mario and Princess Daisy grew closer together, having both just lost people they cared deeply about.
