Shipment of DS Lites Stolen
News Flash! Various sites on the net are reporting that a shipment of approximately 120,000 black DS Lite units was stolen. The units were certainly bound for Europe where the black systems are set to launch on June 26, 2005.
But is this story fact or fiction?
Could this be just another marketing ploy by Nintendo to create an apparent "shortage," thereby sending European consumers and diehard importers into ravenous frenzy on launch day? Well if a shipment of a 120,000 black DS Lite units were actually "stolen," don't you think Nintendo would have pushed back the launch date? Don't you think that you would be able to buy a black DS Lite on eBay? Don't you think Nintendo of America or Nintendo of Europe would make an official announcement on their website?!?!?!?!? Wake up people!
On a completely unrelated note, PG Bam is now taking pre-orders for the European exclusive black DS Lite systems.
